Gentle Mar was found wandering alone in the countryside when she was about a year old. She had a chain around her neck which was embedded into her skin and was extremely nervous. She was initially taken to the big shelter in Malaga and moved to SOS in early October 2023.
Over time, Mar’s injury to her neck has healed, and she has gained confidence as she has learned to trust. It is obvious that Mar has experienced cruelty, but despite this, she is a kind and gentle dog. Since being with us, she has blossomed and become a happier girl, although is still cautious in new situations.
Mar gets on well with our other dogs and is best friends with her kennel mate, Eldan. She’s very easy on our twice-daily walks to the river and is popular with all our volunteers.
Mar would suit most family situations where her new family or person will continue to work on her trust and build confidence. We also think a home with another well-adjusted dog would be ideal.
Our vet estimates that Mar was born around July 2022. She currently weighs 18 kg and is 54 cm tall. She holds an EU-issued passport and is ready to travel for the right home.
