Annie is a beautiful Podenco Orito found running beside a busy road by one of our supporters. She was in poor condition and not microchipped, so we think she was a stray or a dumped hunting dog.

Her foster mum reports that Annie is an affectionate girl who loves cuddles on the sofa. She is fully house-trained, great in the car, at the vets, and around food, etc. She lives with other dogs, with whom she gets on well, and loves to play with her toys. Annie walks well on the lead, and her basic training and recall are coming along nicely; she’s an intelligent dog and keen to learn.

As with all Podencos, she is a keen hunter and capable of burrowing under or jumping over fences so will need a fully secure garden. We also recommend continued recall training and the use of a long-line when walking in areas where her hunting instinct is triggered.

Annie was born around May 2019. She is leishmania positive which is managed effectively with medication and is asymptomatic.
