It was Campo’s time to cross the rainbow bridge and although we have known for a while that the time to say goodbye was close; it is heartbreaking none the less.
Campo had been with SOS most of his life. In those 14 years, he has lived at all of our shelters and was our only dog to have lived at the original SOS shelter.
His latest cancerous tumour was inoperable and had begun to bleed, so saying goodbye was the kindest thing for Campo.
He enjoyed a lovely river walk followed by a very special breakfast and a nap in the sunshine.
Our vet arrived in the afternoon and he died in his favourite dog house with Ronnie and Teija close by.
We miss him terribly.
